October is a fun-filled month of prone shooting in New England. Two weeks after the Foliage Match you can head to CT for the Great Pumpkin Match (a 2400 metric prone match). The Great Pumpkin is rumored to visit the shooter whose score is most sincere.

About the Author: Dan Holmes started shooting competitive smallbore in 1986. During his Junior career, he earned two national junior team titles and had numerous local and regional wins. After a 10 year year hiatus to attend college and start a family, Dan returned to the sport and quickly regained momentum. Since his return he has won local, sectional and regional tournaments, and added 4 more team wins and a third place expert win at the National Matches to his shooting resume. Dan is a member of the Blackhawk Rifle Club, Digby Hand Schuetzenverein and is the founder of pronematch.com. He lives in Massachusetts with his wife and 2 children.
