Results for 7/31

Well…there was absolutely no wind tonight but WOW is was dark with the thunderstorms rolling in! Erik Hoskins pulled a 400-35x out of his ass and I finished up second with a 400-30x. The chili met with wide-spread approval (Hey Hap…turkey and chocolate does in fact make a delicious chili!) and Kim Coffey was kind enough to bring brownies and chocolate chip cookies…thanks Kim!

Oh…the complete results are up here.

Beer can fix

Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it), I discovered that I didn’t have enough windage clicks on my scope during team day–better to happen during team day than the first day of anysights! Between the mirage and the wind, I was only able to get to the the 7 ring at 8 o’clock.

Fortunately, it was nothing a few beer can shims couldn’t fix. Along with helpful guidance of  Jay Sonneborn and Lisette Grunwell, I was able to pickup the clicks I needed and bore sight the rifle. With the scope situated properly, I proceeded to knock the scope on the gun case which threw the scope out of whack again. Doh! Continue reading

Erik Hoskins captured Hap Rocketto delivering his inspiring speech to the Digby Hand prone team prior to the start of the match. Unfortunately some of the audio is drowned out by the range officer.

We’re back from Perry

Well, Erik and I made it back in record time yesterday. The ride passed quite quickly as we decompressed from the week. After Erik dropped me off, he headed up to the house in NH to see his family and I poured myself a bourbon and reflected on the week. Stay tuned for some more details from Perry including a special video performance from Hap Rocketto.

Team Day

I haven’t been able to update the blog very often because my Internet connection has been spotty on the base. The metallic match is over, today is team day, and tomorrow starts any sights. I’ll post some more pictures as I take them.
