5/28/09 HPM Match

Erik Hoskins settles in to shoot some Xs at HPM  Erik Hoskins settles in to shoot some Xs at the HPM

Wow, was the weather crappy at last night’s HPM. Cold, raw, and 47 degrees at match time with a 5mph breeze in your face made it feel like winter. Erik Hoskins and myself were joking that is was warmer when we shot the New Year’s Dewar match in January in 2008! Despite the miserable weather we had 13 hearty shooters show up to freeze their butts off.

Despite the conditions there were a number of high scores…but nobody could compete with Don Norris who turned in an impressive 400-32x. What makes Don’s score even more impressive is that he had lost all feeling in his fingers since his blood had long since evacuated his appendages in order to “survive” the cold temperatures and keep his vital organs warm. You can see complete results here.
