George Pantazelos

.

Where to you call home?
Medfield, MA.

How long have you been shooting?
My dad got me into upland hunting at 15 I think. Whenever it was legal for us to share a shotgun. I also had a pellet rifle and pellet pistol that I used in my parents yard growing up.

How did you get involved in shooting competitively?
John Payton recuited me about five years ago to shoot for the Braintree Rifle and Pistol Club’s Rifle team during the winter league.

What is a little known fact about yourself that your fellow competitors might not know?
I ski race competetively during the winter in some amateur leagues in New England. I also coach the Wentworth Institute of Technology’s Rifle team. Yes, Wentworth has a collegiate Rifle team right in Boston, and it is an NCAA Varsity Sport.

What do you consider your finest shooting achievement.
Probably the first time I beat Dan Holmes and Erik Hoskins at Hopkinton. It made me realize that I was no longer just a participant.

What is your favorite pre-match meal?
Eggs Benedict with home fries and white toast.

What is your favorite post match drink?
Dirty Stoli martini stirred, not shaken, with three olives and no ice chunks.

Do you have a favorite shooting range?
Camp Perry Ohio.

Do you have any short term and/or long term goals?
Short term would be to get distinguished in smallbore prone and make High Master in high power. Long term would be to get distinguished in 3p and be the best shooter I can be while still being a good husband and father.

What shooting skills are currently focusing your energy on?
I should be focusing on shooting better standing  but right now I’m focusing more on coaching the kids at Wentworth.

Thanks George for sharing a little bit about yourself with the pronematch.com community!

If my memory serves me right the top picture of George was from Perry 2010 when PMDC was en-route to the annual board meeting.
